Engineering a cleaner future on the water
CAN-YU is the first Ontario university team to compete in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge — an international competition where university teams race electric, student-built watercraft at the Yacht Club de Monaco. We are a multidisciplinary team from York University’s Lassonde School of Engineering, drawing on expertise in mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering to push the boundaries of sustainable marine propulsion.
Beyond the competition, CAN-YU is building a lasting program at Lassonde — one that trains engineers, connects students with industry, and advances Canada’s role in the global shift toward clean energy on the water.
